Accessibility Statement

Alachua Conservation Trust is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible experience to everyone, including those with disabilities, guided by the Americans with Disabilities Act, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), and our accessibility policy to ensure equal access.

ACT’s public preserves and outdoor accessibility

Alachua Conservation Trust provides all-terrain wheelchairs at no cost to members of the community for use at ACT’s public preserves and parks, as well as events, when applicable. Our accessibility pages for our preserves include additional information such as trail length, steepest incline, and total elevation gain. Detailed descriptions of the trails and photos are available as well.

Some parks and preserves are not available for use by our EcoRover program because we cannot ensure the safety and accessibility of trails due to existing natural features on the property. We are continually retrofitting ACT trails and preserves to add more opportunities for users to experience the outdoors. 

Website conformance status

Our website is hosted by Squarespace and includes additional lines of HTML code. We are actively working to conform to the WCAG version 2.1 conformance level AA for our online experiences, including our website and documents. 

Alachua Conservation Trust is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA, meaning that some parts of the content do not fully meet the accessibility standard. Currently, there are sections that may present challenges to some users. For example, some uploaded images may be missing alternative text descriptions.

In addition, our content contains PDFs and links that have not been remediated for accessibility. However, please feel free to request assistance by contacting our organization.
